Smart EyeCare Center was first established in Augusta, Maine in January 1990 and provides primary vision care for many communities throughout the state. Our family focused, Maine small business has been voted Best Eyecare practice in both the Augusta and Bangor locations for a number of consecutive years. We are recognized as an outstanding business by the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce. Our practice takes pride in our well-trained employees. Smart EyeCare Center front desk administrators, technicians and opticians hold many national certifications. We are in the forefront of our industry using the latest technology, such as Electronic Medical Record Keeping, Optomap Retinal Scan, Optical Coherence Tomography as well as other advanced diagnostic equipment. Smart EyeCare currently has four convenient locations, no long wait for appointments and accepts most major insurance plans.

Chief Operating Officer

Paul was raised in Watertown, MA. He graduated from Westfield State College with a BS in Accounting and a minor in Criminal Justice. Paul has over twenty years experience in Accounting, Finance & Information Technology. Paul has previously worked as a Chief Financial Officer as well as a Vice President of Finance & Information Technology prior to joining Smart EyeCare Center as Chief Operating Officer.

Senior Practice Resource Manager

As Senior Practice Resource Manager, Sally is responsible for all administrative aspects of our office. Sally has over 28 years experience in the eye care industry in Maine. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Technician, American Board Certified Optician, and National Contact Lens Certified Technician. She has served on the Maine Paraoptometric Association Board, President 2006-2008; Secretary-Treasurer 2003-2006 and 2008-2009; Member at Large 2001-2002 and 2010-2011. In 2004 she was chosen as Maine's Paraoptometric of the Year. She has served on the Certification Examination Committee for the Commission on Paraoptometric Certification from 2010-2012 and is Chair of the Certification Examination Committee 2012-2013. She serves as a Member on the Commission on Paraoptometric Certification Board 2012-2015. She is a graduate of Kennebec Valley Community College with an Associate's degree in Business management/marketing.
