Importance of Backup Eyewear

Do you have a high prescription?  Are you legal for driving without your glasses? If you answered no to either of these questions you should make sure to have a second pair of glasses. What if something happened to your glasses; what if they fell in the lake or the dog chewed them?  What if you drove over them with your car?  Yes, these are all things we hear happen! But, unfortunately this leaves you without the ability to see.  Because of this it is important to have a second pair of glasses.

Smart EyeCare offers same day service on many prescriptions but for people with high prescriptions we may not have your lenses in stock.  Or, if you’re using insurance we have to use their labs and it takes 7-10 business days on average. Don’t end up in this position!  Have a backup pair ready to go.

Are you a contact lens wearer?  It is also important to have a backup pair of glasses.  If you end up with an eye infection or other eye related injury you may be unable to wear your contact lenses. It is also nice to be able to give your eyes a break at the end of the day and wear glasses around the house.

We understand that cost is sometimes a factor in not having a second pair or backup glasses for many people.  To help with this we offer self pay patients 30% off a second pair of glasses if purchased on the same day as your first pair. Discounts may vary based on insurance. We also offer our Smart Choice package for $109.  This can give you piece of mind if something happens to your glasses or contact lenses!
